Help improve your credit rating
Improving your credit rating means better deals when you apply for credit. And who wouldn't want that?
If you meet your repayments on time each month and stay below your credit limit, you could start to improve your credit rating. Not doing so could harm it.
Is the Ocean Credit Card right for you?
If you're after a credit card that's simple, straightforward and manageable, it could be just what you're looking for.
Oh, just one more thing. You're more likely to be accepted if you're:
- Over 18
- On the electoral roll
- Have some history of managing credit
This is just to give you an idea. Meeting the above criteria doesn't guarantee you'll be accepted.
Please borrow and spend responsibly.
Extra Features
- Log in and manage your account online
- There's one simple interest rate for all transactions
- You can add up to three additional cardholders and keep track of their spending. Remember, you're responsible for all transactions on the account.
- If you use your card responsibly, you may become eligible for a credit limit increase. Your limit will be reviewed twice a year.
Common questions
What information do you need from me when I apply for the Ocean Credit Card?
We don’t need your life history, but we will need a few personal details when applying for an online credit card. This includes your addresses for the last two years, your employment status and your income.
What will my credit limit be?
The Ocean Credit Card comes with an easy to manage credit limit between £200 and £1,500. This lets you keep tighter control over your spending compared to other UK credit cards with higher limits.
The amount you’re personally offered with our credit card online will depend on your situation and credit history.
I’ve been declined before. Does this mean I’ll be declined again?
Not necessarily, no.
The good news is that every lender has their own criteria, so just because you’ve been declined for an online credit card by one, it doesn’t always mean you’ll be declined another.
This is where QuickCheck comes in – you can use it to see if you’ll be accepted for the Ocean Credit Card before you apply, and you don’t need to worry about it leaving a mark on your credit report, as it won’t impact it whatsoever.
Does QuickCheck do a ‘soft search’ or a ‘hard search’ on my credit report?
QuickCheck does a ‘soft search’ with the credit reference agencies. You’ll be able to see this on your credit report, but no one else will, so it won’t affect your credit rating.
If you go on to apply, we’ll also do a ‘hard search’, which will show up on your credit report.
If I’m accepted, when will I get my card?
It’ll take 7 – 10 days from when you’re accepted.
Your PIN will arrive first. This is sent separately for security reasons. Make sure you change it to one that you’ll remember.
