From group-buying subscription sites to community-led forums, we’ve compiled this list of the best deal sites in the UK - and what to look out for on each.

Groupon

Offering group-buying deals on shopping, days out, travel, restaurants, spas and household goods, Groupon is a well-known global player in the daily deals space. You sign up with your email address and postcode, then you’re sent daily deals (with up to 70% off) that are available for just a limited time - these can be for anything from new bedding to theme park tickets.

Best for:

Days out. While Groupon offers a lot of categories, we recommend signing up for the activities and days out that are local to your area. We’ve seen 2D cinema tickets for as little as £5 and spa packages as low as £24 per person.

MoneySavingExpert.com

It’s likely you know Martin Lewis from his TV appearances, consumer rights campaigns or his unbiased advice on MoneySavingExpert.com. The UK-based site focuses on consumer advice, money-saving tips and also has a top-notch deals and discounts section. There’s also a range of very active forums where you can discuss money matters with other savvy folks.

Best for:

Financial deals. While there’s a broad range offered on-site, nobody is in-the-know quite like the Money Saving Expert team when it comes to financial product deals. This includes knowing which current account has the highest joining bonus, which ISA has the best interest rate, and how to find a better deal on your household bills.

HolidayPirates

Specialising in travel deals - including hotel, flight and package holidays - HolidayPirates are experts at finding out-of-this-world bargains, either for last-minute travel or early-bird bargains. Deals we’ve seen include Eurostar tickets from £29, a New York trip including historic hotel stay for under £430 per person and European city breaks under £100 per person.

Best for:

Holidays! HolidayPirates are experts in travel deals and their offers are hard to beat. Why not try checking their site when you need to book a trip - or following them on Facebook to see inspirational deals in your news feed?

Hot UK Deals

Completely community-led, Hot UK Deals is a platform where you can sign up (for free), share deals you’ve found, or offer friendly money-saving advice. Deals are all voted for on-site - by the two million users - so the most popular ones are surfaced higher up, meaning you’re often likely to see a great bargain as soon as you log on. The site is arranged into handy categories, so you can find what you’re looking for easily.

Best for:

Electronics and gaming bargains. While you can find deals for all sorts of shopping categories, the offers focused on new phones, computers and gaming bundles are particularly strong.

Wowcher

Wowcher offer group-buying deals on everything from spa treatments to electronics and travel. Their deals are heavily discounted and only available for a limited time, meaning it’s best to sign up for their emails so you don’t miss out on an offer.

Best for:

UK breaks. You can find all sorts on Wowcher, but we’ve been particularly impressed with the overnight stays at hotels, holiday parks and even glamping across the UK. They often come with large discounts and most have a calendar upfront, so you can see availability before you buy your voucher.

Magic Freebies

As the name suggests, Magic Freebies specialises in getting items for free. Whether this is free samples, free gifts on your birthday, or competitions - this is the site for those who just love getting something for nothing. It’s always clear what you need to do to receive your freebie (sometimes you need to fill in a short survey or complete a task) and there’s huge variety. We’ve seen free baby food, make-up, chocolate and perfume.

Best for:

Cosmetics and beauty. While there’s plenty on offer, a lot of the cosmetics and beauty samples don’t require much to claim - so it’s a great way to test new products without spending.

Ocean Finance

Did you know we have a section on the blog dedicated to deals and life hacks? We share the best deals we find, including the cream of the crop from other sites on this list, as well as handy tips to help you make the most of your money.

Best for:

The best deals in one place! We’ll only handpick the very best deals to share with you.
